Chapter 4: One Ride, Thousand Feelings

Another function was coming up — again at my friend’s place, and this time I was officially invited. I got to know that she would be coming too. And this time… we decided we wouldn’t just meet by chance.

We made a plan.

She would arrive by train or bus near my friend’s village — there was a railway station and a bus stand just nearby. I’d go early and wait there. We had decided… wahi milenge. This time, I didn’t want to miss the moment.

My friend called, “Bhai, Tanaya aane wali hai. Usko udhar se lete aana.”

A smile lit up my face. I immediately messaged her — “I’m on the way… can’t wait.”

It was something we both wanted. This time, I could pick her up — ride with her. No hiding, no hesitation.

I reached early, and within a few minutes… she arrived. She smiled and walked up to me. Without saying much, she sat behind me on my Bullet.

The road to my friend’s village was about 20 kilometers — but that ride felt like a lifetime.

She was sitting behind me, holding onto me gently. No one said a word. But our hearts were louder than ever.

And when we reached the house — I didn’t drop her somewhere far. I took her straight to the gate… in front of everyone. Her family saw. My friend’s family saw.

And for the first time… it didn’t matter.

That one ride… made us feel something we couldn’t say out loud.
