Chapter 3: The Message That Changed Everything
Days passed. Weeks, even. Life got busy — especially after I shifted to Delhi for work. The city kept me on my toes, but somewhere in the chaos, her memory quietly stayed with me.
And then… one evening, ekdum achanak, I saw a message on my phone.
It was from her.
“Hi…”
Just that. But it was enough to freeze me in place. My heart raced like it was trying to catch up with all the feelings I had buried. I replied nervously… and she responded.
Slowly, we started talking — just small, normal conversations. Nothing heavy, nothing dramatic. But there was a comfort in her words, a calm in her presence — even through texts.
Sometimes we chatted, sometimes we didn’t. Kabhi-kabhi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti thi — kaise ho, kahan ho, kya kar rahe ho — and that was enough to brighten my entire day.
Phir ek din, mere dost ke ghar ek aur function tha… aur usme vo fir se mili.
This time, the smiles weren’t new. The familiarity was there — we both remembered everything. The dhol, the glances, the silence.
But now, we had shared words. Messages. Emotions.
We talked more that day. Laughed. Even teased each other a bit.
And later, calls started happening too. Short at first — awkward and shy. But slowly, we started knowing each other better.
Uska andaaz, uski soch, uska har lafz… dil mein utarta chala gaya.
We weren’t strangers anymore. But were we something more?
