Chapter 5: The Night Before the Celebration


 The function we came for was no ordinary one — it was my friend’s brother’s wedding. We both had arrived a day early, excited for the big celebration ahead. Everyone was busy with preparations, decorations, and that wedding rush that makes every moment feel alive.


I was spending time with my friends, laughing, dancing, helping out with little tasks. She was with her group too, but our eyes met now and then — and that was enough to spark butterflies.


We had small conversations during the day — mostly while walking together or during short bike rides.


Those were the moments we cherished the most. When no one else was watching. When we were just… us.


We didn’t talk much, but the silence between us was comforting — like we didn’t need words to know how the other felt.


In the evening, everyone rested early — we had to wake up the next morning for the baarat.


She went inside with her cousins. I sat on the terrace for a while, thinking about her — wondering if she was doing the same.


Us raat ne kuch nahi kaha, par sab kuch mehsoos karva diya.


Sometimes, love isn’t loud. It’s quiet glances across the room. It’s shared smiles in between family chaos. It’s the comfort of knowing — someone is there.
